Jewelry and bracelets

The origin of the term 'bracelet' is from the Latin 'brachile ' meaning 'of the arm ', through the Old French 'barcel '. Wristbands Wristbands are encircling strips worn on the wrist, made from any of a spread of materials dependent on the purpose. The term can refer to the bracelet-like band of a wrist-watch, to the cuff or other part of a sleeve that covers the wrist, or to ornamental or functional bands worn on the wrist for other reasons.

One common kind of wristband is the loops of plastic or tyvek that are placed round the wrist for identification purposes ( demonstrating the wearer's permission to be at a location, for instance ). Silicone wristbands more lately, wristbands, often made from silicone, are worn to show the wearer's support of a cause or charitable organization, like awareness ribbons. Such wristbands are occasionally called symbands to distinguish them from other kinds of wristbands.

One of the first charitable associations to use silicone wristbands as a strategy of demonstrating support for a cause was the yellow Livestrong wristband made in 2004 by the Lance Armstrong Foundation. There's also another kind of Wristband called Web band. It's an online version of the genuine wristband.
